An Agriculture graduate from Dapoli with an MBA from Pune University, he is recognised for his results-driven approach, ethical leadership and strong commitment to transparency. His ability to harness innovation has helped streamline operations, strengthen employee capabilities and enhance customer experience.
His career includes leadership roles at Axis Bank, ICICI Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra. He subsequently served as CEO of Svatantra Microfin Pvt. Ltd. for 11 years, where he built the organisation from its inception and, by mid-2024, grew it to a loan book of ₹7,700 crore and a workforce exceeding 10,000 employees. Prior to joining the organisation, he served as Joint Chief Operating Officer at Bharat Financial Inclusion Ltd.
With deep expertise in the microfinance sector, Mr. Varadkar combines strategic perspective with a strong understanding of business operations and people management.
